Geek.com says they’re positioning it as a flagship handset. Preorders start October 29th.
Lenovo, the Chinese laptop company spun off from IBM, already makes smartphones, but is starting a new company to focus exclusively on smart devices. Cnet.com reports they will primarily focus on internet sales in China.
Another use for 3D printing…WonderLuk is using it to customize fashion accessories. Techcrunch.com says they believe in 5 years, 3D printing will allow for perfectly fitted clothes, delivered to your door.
New Nexus’ from Google…and Android Lollypop

The Nexus 6 packs a 6 inch screen, and is available for preorder later this month. Geek.com notes that the latest version of Android is Android L, which stands for Lollypop!
With Apple’s event tomorrow, macrumors.com says KGI Securities predicts initial iPad Air 2 supplies will be tight, the iPad Mini will just be a minor upgrade, and the expected 27 inch Retina iMac will ship before the end of the year.
Amazon has integrated their Cloud Drive with Amazon Instant Video. You can store up to 5 gigs of your pictures, videos, documents, etc for free, according to thenextweb.com.
Skype Joins the Disappearing Video Chat Club

Venturebeat.com says it does videos up to 42 seconds, which auto delete in 2 weeks. It runs on Android, iOS, and Windows, and you need the Skype app too, but not an account.
Google Shopping Express has Amazon Prime in its sights. 9to5google.com reports the $95 a year service is now available in San Francisco & San Jose, with overnight delivery in Northern California…and includes alcohol delivery!
If you need a super cheap Windows tablet that is just about good enough, check Emdoor or Ployer. Geek.com says they’re both $65, and 7 and 8 inches respectively. If you want a cheap tablet for a child, these may do the trick.

New ‘Bendy’ Lenovo Laptop

Arstechnica.com says the Yoga 3 Pro is a 13.3 inch Windows unit with a 360 degree hinge so it can fold into a tablet, while the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro has a built in projector.
A startup called Conspire aims to horn in on LinkedIn’s business. Techcrunch.com reports it taps into communications platforms, starting with email, and uses big data analytics to find the most reliable chain of connections between you and a person you want to meet.
Dell has gone green tech in their packaging. Geek.com says it’s being made from mushrooms, wheatgrass, and a plastic made from methane..the byproduct of gassy cows!
The “Thrifty Amateur’s” GoPro

Apple may not bring out a larger iPad until next year, but 9to5mac.com reports that production will start in December on the 12 inch Retina Macbook.
If you work out or just walk around, you might want Ampy. Gigaom.com says the $75 kickstarter project is a portable charger for your phone that gets its charge from your kinetic energy…a 30 to 60 minute workout will charge it, then it will give your phone an extra 3 hours of juice.
Teens Love the iPhone, But Apple Watch…Not So Much

The Apple Watch? A bust with teens…only 16% are interested. How many people do YOU see under 50 wearing a watch?
Google maps has been the go to app, especially on Android. According to gigaom.com, Nokia’s HERE maps may peel off a lot of users. It’s as solid as Google’s, does turn by turn directions offline, but unlike Google, even covers search and points of interest off line.
Hate to wait in line? Square Order has updated its app for both Android and iOS. Thenextweb.com says it not only lets you order food or coffee ahead, but also now alerts the shop that you’re on the way, so your order is hot and waiting when you get there. Sweet!

Santa Could Leave Your VR Headset Under the Tree

It will sell for less than $200, and pairs with the Galaxy Note 4.
Adobe has introduced Premiere Clip, a streamlined video editor for iPhone and the iPad. It’s intended for anyone, not just pros. Theverge.com says it syncs back to the desktop version for easier touching up later.
iOS 8 is now on 45% of Apple’s devices according to cnet.com. By comparison, iOS 7 was at 70% at this point, based on analytics from Mixpanel, which tracks mobile app usage. Of course, Apple has never released two smartphones at once, either, one of which has about a month’s backlog.

Set top box maker Roku has enabled screen mirroring from some Android smart devices and Windows devices to your HDTV. 9to5google.com says you can mirror apps, photos, games, and the web on your smart device and your big screen.
