The Next HTC Flagship Phone Will Be Two

It helped sales before, so Motorola is again discounting the Moto X. According to theverge.com, it will be $140 off February 2nd through Valentine’s Day…the same price as Moto had Cyber Monday.
With all the hoopla about Apple’s sales and earnings, here’s something that slipped under the radar. Appliedsider.com says Google Play downloads are growing, but Apple’s App Store still commands 70% of digital storefront revenue.
Moto Relaunches Smartphone Line in China

The X Pro is basically the same as a Nexus 6.
Smarter appliances are coming on fast, and LG has rolled out the Twin Wash washer. Geekwire.com reports it sports a regular front load washer, and a mini one in the pedestal base, so you can do 2 loads at once!
A lot of iPhone cases add battery life, but Reach 79 has rolled out one for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus that doubles signal strength. Macrumors.com says they’re $60 and $70 respectively, and will help battery life since the phone won’t have to work as hard getting a signal.
New Moto Droid Doubles Down On A Monster Battery

It has the specs you’d expect from a flagship smartphone, and appears a bit thick. The turbo has a 3900 milliamp/hour battery…more than TWICE the power of an iPhone 6!
Speaking of Apple, primary supplier Foxconn is angling to build future iPhone displays, and get a bigger piece of the ‘Apple pie’. 9to5mac.com reports they’re in discussions to build a new factory and take the business from Sharp, LG, and Samsung.
The auto world rolls on towards the self-driving car. According to engadget.com, Ford will introduce smart braking to some 2015 European models. The option uses cameras and radar to effect stops and avoid crashes.
Like Samsung, Moto Tries to Get Out Front of Apple

According to bgr.com, it has to be charged twice a day, though. It is a great looking watch, with styling cues taken from the expensive Mont Blanc Timewalker watches. The watch is already sold out online, but should be restocked, and will be in stores like Best Buy on the 14th.
Also from Motorola is a huge upgrade to the venerable Bluetooth headset. Moto says it’s an ‘earable,’ as it fits entirely in the ear like an earbud. Theverge.com reports the in-ear Moto Hint will not only handle phone calls, but getting directions, quick voice searches, hearing texts, and more. It’s $149, and out this fall.
IBM is working hard to kill the hard drive they invented. Engadget.com says their magnetic ‘racetrack memory’ will increase storage by a power of 100, be faster, and never wear out. Think of a tiny series of magnets, built one atomic layer at a time. A big bonus…it’s cheaper to produce than hard drives or flash memory. No word on how soon it will be in our hands.
