Could Samsung Be Thinking of Releasing a 2 Line Galaxy S6?

Pictures have showed up online of a prototype duel sim card Samsung Galaxy S6. Dubbed the Duo, cnet.com reports it would allow for 2 phone numbers…business and personal, or for people who travel overseas frequently. No word on it’s possible release.

Thenextweb.com says an app called Taplet is out for iOS…it extracts still pictures from your videos. You can even upload GoPro or Snapchat footage to your phone and pick HD images. It’s free at the App Store.

Engineers at the University of Zurich in Switzerland have developed a system that automatically uprights drones and finds them a place to land, avoiding crashes. According to engadget.com, it even works in constrained areas and indoors.


Analyst: Apple Watch SalesWill Be Strong

The Apple Watch will be introduced Monday, and appleinsider.com says a forecast from BMO Capital Markets is for 19 million of the smart watches to sell this year. They predict that half of those will be during the holiday shopping season. BMO also expects that by the end of 2015, there will be more than 484 million iPhone users…nearly a half a billion!

Google has updated Gmail for iOS. 9to5google.com reports that Google has included sheet support, the ability to archive, and the ability to reply to email using notifications. You will also be able to email directly from other apps and attach photos and documents, like with Apple’s native Mail app. It’s in the App Store now.

If drones make you worry about privacy, you may as well start worrying more now. According to bgr.com, Unbox Therapy has a mini-drone that fits in the palm of your hand. The good news is, right now, it’s indoor only…it can’t fly in any amount of wind.


Beats Solo 2 Headphones Cut the Cord

Beats best selling Solo 2 headphones have cut the cord. Gigaom.com says the wireless Bluetooth phones should last 12 hours on a charge, and are $299. There’s no Apple branding, and they charge with Micro USB, not Apple’s Lightning cable.

For the cat lover with everything, there’s Tailio…a $100 net connected scale that sits under the letterbox. Engadget.com reports the kickstarter device weighs kitty, and tells you when to change the box…if your nose hasn’t already!

Last summer Amazon asked permission from the FAA to test drone deliveries. Now, not content to wait on the US, thenextweb.com says they’re planning to start testing in Britain.


Cheaper HTC One Coming

A less pricey HTC One smartphone is due out this month. It’s the E8, and according to cnet.com, it’s mainly a polycarbonate skinned M8, with the tough plastic replacing the metal skin the M8 has and a little less fancy camera. The E8 comes in blue, red, black and white. There’ll be a dual-SIM version in some countries, allowing you to make and receive calls from two numbers in one phone — handy for people who like to keep their business and personal lives separate.

Ostendo has built a tiny 3D projector chip the size of a smartphone camera. Geek.com says it costs $30, can project 48 inch 3D images, and will be out next year. At that price, there will definitely be at least one Android phone maker that takes a gamble on Ostendo’s holographic projection chip.

They may become as common as police and media choppers…gigaom.com reports the FAA is thinking of allowing movie studios to use drones. The precision agriculture, power line and pipeline inspection, and oil and gas flare stack inspection industries have also approached the FAA about an exemption.
